About the Filmmaker

I am a Desi Muslim-American screenwriter and filmmaker currently based in Chicago. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Film/Television from Columbia College Chicago. As a WOC artist, I write to represent and empower my community. My upcoming debut short film, the psychological drama "Make Them Proud," tackles mental health and the eldest daughter's experience through a South Asian lens. I served as the writer and director, and I hope that the film helps break down the cultural stigma against mental health and therapy.

Aside from writing, I also work on-set as a production assistant, assistant director, and production coordinator.
